Our Shop
We have been in our new premises four months now, the move has been a great success, one or two were concerned about the size of the premises. “WEE” is an appropriate description, but the results have calmed the doubters concerns. The last three months has earned 1/4 of the sales from the last two years in the Queen’s Hall. Being in the centre of the main Street has improved the foot fall considerably, so not only have we made new customers we have certainly made new friends. The team of ladies:Anne Muir, Kristiine Cowieson,Rosemary Benn,Lorna Croucher and Ishbel Helms who make the tablet are due a great round of thanks this accounts for approximately £50 income per week!!
Recently Mrs Dalgliesh”s niece generously gifted the house contents to Kirn Parish Church. Anne and Lawther rolled up their sleeves as we had a week to clear the house. Thank you to Iain Taylor, Simon Wallace and Jim Anderson for their help in “the flitting”.
Thanks also to the families of Anne Boyd and Jean Rennie for their donations and support.
We look forward to a fundraising event: Morning coffee and afternoon tea on November 14th in St Mun’s hall. There will be stalls for home baking, crafts, and our ever popular “alternative Christmas Crackers” Members of the committee will have tickets for sale.
As you do your “Christmas” clean(!) we welcome any decorations etc to cheer up our Christmas display, and Christmas paper to help with the wrapping of the “Alternate Christmas Crackers”
We also keep a list in the shop of items people may be looking for…… Do you need a fridge freezer? A washing machine? a drop leaf table? Call me !!!
Last week Jim and Lawther were invited to join the committee of the Kirn Gala to insure this very successful event continues. We feel Kirn Parish is the heart of the village and we happily added our input to the meeting.
Watch this space for news and updates from our wee shop
